Senior Embedded Software Engineer - C/C++

Up to £57,000 + benefits

Are you a Senior Embedded Software Engineer – C/C++ looking to work for a company that makes products that save lives? If so, then this is the job for you! My client’s office is based in Rochester, Kent, and is commutable from Gravesend, Dartford, Bexleyheath, Sittingbourne, Maidstone, Ashford, and Sevenoaks. The company offers flexible/hybrid working.

In this role, you will:

  1. Design and develop application software and embedded firmware in C and C++ for future products.
  2. Assist with the support and enhancement of the existing product portfolio.
  3. Design and develop embedded software using Embedded C.
  4. Work with FreeRTOS to develop real-time, low-level firmware.
  5. Interface directly with hardware, sensors, and microcontroller peripherals.
  6. Contribute to system integration, debugging, and testing.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.

To qualify, you should have:

  1. Proven experience as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer.
  2. Strong hands-on experience with Embedded C and FreeRTOS.
  3. Solid understanding of microcontroller-based systems and real-time constraints.
  4. Familiarity with low-level hardware interaction and debugging tools.
  5. Experience in a safety-critical or regulated environment is a plus.
