Job summary

Cortech Talent Solutions Ltd in Cambridge is seeking 2x experienced firmware design engineers to own embedded firmware from concept to mass production. You will work on audio enhancements, hardware changes, and firmware updates for commercial products onsite in Cambridge.

The role requires deep bare-metal embedded skills with 32-bit MCUs, drivers, and full hardware understanding. You will collaborate with hardware teams, document designs, and deliver reliable firmware for production release.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering firmware from high level to production-ready code.
• Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals and registers.
• Experience with SPI/I2C/UART/ADC/PWM at drivers level.
• Able to read schematics and use test equipment.
• Bare metal development on 32-bit MCUs; RTOS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of embedded firmware development to deliver complete electronics solutions.
• Modify hardware and firmware for audio enhancements for mass production.
• Design and test firmware and electronics hardware for all products.
• Create and maintain design documentation (notes, source code, instructions).
• Troubleshoot faults at code, component and system level; root‑cause analysis.
• Develop non-blocking, clean, maintainable firmware from requirements.
