Job Type: Full-Time | Salary: £49,480 - £65,000 per annum + Pension | Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking | Working pattern: 9-day working fortnight. Flexible working requests will be considered. Closing date: 3 November 2025.

We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Electronics Warhead Engineer (Hardware) to join our Warhead Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who thrives in complex, high-integrity environments – from system integration to safety and security-critical projects.

Due to the classified nature of our work, this role is primarily site-based at AWE.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading the design, integration, and testing of electrical/electronic systems
  • Leading System Engineering deliverables including requirements, system architectures and verification evidence
  • Delivering engineering solutions across the full lifecycle, ensuring safety and performance standards
  • Driving technical delivery, continuous improvement, and innovation
  • Managing stakeholders and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Presenting technical findings to internal and external audiences
What We're Looking For
  • Essential: HNC/HND, NVQ Level 5, or degree in a science/engineering discipline - or equivalent experience
  • Experience of the full engineering lifecycle using system engineering methodologies such as the V-model
  • Proven experience in leading technical projects and teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and people management abilities
  • Ability to plan and deliver multiple objectives concurrently

  • Experience delivering across safety-critical programmes
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering
