Package: £49,480 - £65,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications & level of experience)

We're currently recruiting for a Senior Electronics Warhead Engineer (Hardware) to join our Warhead Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who thrives in complex, high-integrity environments - from system integration to safety and security-critical projects. Due to the classified nature of our work, this role is primarily site-based at AWE.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Leading the design, integration, and testing of electrical/electronic systems
  • Leading System Engineering deliverables including requirements, system architectures and verification evidence.
  • Delivering engineering solutions across the full lifecycle, ensuring safety and performance standards
  • Driving technical delivery, continuous improvement, and innovation
  • Managing stakeholders and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Presenting technical findings to internal and external audiences
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
  • HNC/HND, NVQ Level 5, or degree in a science/engineering discipline - or equivalent experience
  • Experience of the full engineering lifecycle using system engineering methodologies such as the V‑model.
  • Proven experience in leading technical projects and teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and people management abilities
  • Ability to plan and deliver multiple objectives concurrently
Desirable Experience:
  • Engineering delivery across safety-critical programmes
  • Experience is Model Based System Engineering
  • Cost-saving and efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and influence
  • Coaching and developing others within multidisciplinary teams
  • Promoting high standards in safety, security, and quality
