Job summary

Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) seeks a Senior Electronics R&D Engineer to develop advanced interfaces and measurement systems for nanopore sequencing tech. You will prototype, test, and optimise electronics, collaborating with MEMS and mechanical teams to mature concepts into integrated platforms.

You will design low-noise circuits, multi-channel data acquisition, and automated tests, while guiding external suppliers and documenting results to support intellectual property and scalable

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in electronic engineering R&D and instrumentation.
• Strong analogue/mixed-signal, low-noise design and measurement techniques.
• Proven hardware development from concept to prototype and testing.
• Experience with automated test methods and scripting for control/analysis.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of electrical engineering development for advanced interfaces and measurement systems.
• Design, build, and test custom electronic test equipment and platforms.
• Develop multi-channel analogue measurement systems and data-acquisition electronics.
• Collaborate with MEMS/mechanical teams to integrate prototype devices.
• Develop automated tests and data analysis software for performance evaluation.
• Define specs for external suppliers and manage progress against requirements.
