Senior Electronic Development Engineer | Exciting Opportunity with Our Customer in Point of Care R&D

A leading global healthcare organisation, our customer is committed to building a healthier future through innovation. Their RDS R&D Point of Care (POC) department designs and develops state-of-the-art diagnostic systems used in hospitals and critical care environments. These systems enable rapid, on-the-spot diagnosis for infectious diseases, coagulation monitoring, urinalysis, glucose management, cardiovascular care, and blood gas & electrolyte testing. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electronic Development Engineer to join their dynamic and interdisciplinary hardware team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to play a key role in developing advanced diagnostic technologies that make a real difference in patient care.

  • Lead electronic development from concept through schematic design and system integration for new and existing instruments.
  • Prepare technical specifications, design documentation, and verification reports throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct and document feasibility studies and verification testing for instrument modules.
  • Define and integrate interfaces across electronic, mechanical, and software domains.
  • Develop efficient electronic architectures, including schematic and PCB design, in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide product lifecycle support post-launch, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and redesigns (e.g., PCB end-of-life management).
  • Work closely with operations and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth design transfer and production support.
  • Mentor junior engineers and manage external development partners as part of project delivery.
Desirable Additional Skills
  • FPGA (VHDL/Verilog) experience
  • Firmware or low-level software development skills (e.g., driver programming)
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • 6+ years’ professional experience in electronic development within a complex, regulated system environment (e.g., medical, automotive, or avionics)
  • Experience in leading technical or sub-projects within interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and systematic product development methods
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Hands-on experience with PCBA bring-up and debugging using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies
  • A methodical, analytical, and collaborative working style, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fully agile and transparent environment
