Job summary

Jackson Hogg Ltd is supporting a Newcastle-based engineering business that designs and manufactures advanced automated machinery and bespoke electromechanical equipment. The role of Senior Electromechanical Technician covers build, test, commissioning and development of tailored automation solutions, with opportunities to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.

You will collaborate with design, controls and project engineering teams across the workshop and enjoy a competitive

Qualifications

• Experience in electromechanical assembly or automation environments.
• Electrical wiring, control panels, sensors, motors and drives.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting of complex equipment.
• Experience with machine commissioning, testing or installation.
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems knowledge is desirable.
• Experience on bespoke machinery, robotics or advanced manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble complex electromechanical and automated systems.
• Carry out electrical wiring, installation and integration activities.
• Support machine testing, fault finding and commissioning.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
• Interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics and technical documentation.
• Work closely with design, controls and project engineering teams.
• Support continuous improvement activities across the workshop.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members where required.
