Job summary

Vincent Gurney Ltd in Ipswich is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to oversee the electrical package from pre-construction through to handover on high-value commercial projects.

You will lead electrical site teams, manage subcontractors, coordinate with mechanical engineers, handle RAMS and procurement, and report to the Senior Project Manager.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical delivery, SSSTS/SMSTS, a JIB card, and the ability to work under pressure and commute to Ipswich.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the electrical industry
• Experience as Electrical Construction/Site Manager
• Experience on commercial projects
• Holding a JIB/Skill card and SSSTS/SMSTS
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Commutable to Ipswich

Job Title: Senior Electrical Project Engineer

Location: Ipswich

Salary: £75,000 + Car allowance + 11.5% pension

The Role

• Overseeing the Electrical package for the project from pre‑construction phase all the way through to handover
• Must have operations experience
• Managing Electrical sub‑contractors including specialists
• Overseeing the Electrical Supervisors/Site Managers
• Liaising with Mechanical engineers & Managers
• Managing interfaces with existing client facilities
• Procurement (managing material levels and working with suppliers)
• Production of RAMS and paperwork associated with construction processes and procurement
• Reporting to the Senior Project Manager

The Ideal Candidate

• Will have 5+ years' experience in the Electrical industry
• Will have previous experience working as an Electrical Construction/Site Manager
• Will have previous experience working on commercial projects
• Will hold a JIB/Skill card & SSSTS/SMSTS
• Will work well under pressure to meet deadlines
• Will have excellent communication skills
• Will be able to commute to Ipswich
