A leading engineering consultancy in the United Kingdom is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to provide technical support for design projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining quality in project deliverables. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid model, requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite, and contribute to projects supporting the Ministry of Defence.
Up to £69 per hour umbrella (Inside IR35)
12 month contract (initially) - Hybrid working (minimum 3 days per week onsite)
The Electrical Systems Group within the Facilities Engineering Department are responsible for providing both technical support and design consultancy on electrical systems and equipment for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities within Devonport Royal Dockyard, and Ministry of Defence (MOD) establishments.
As part of this function, they are responsible for providing intelligent customer support to Ministry of Defence (MOD) projects within Devonport Royal Dockyard.
The role is predominantly office based but will require site visits across the Devonport site.
The primary purpose of the senior electrical design engineer (power) role is to support the Intelligent Customer function for electrical aspects of design projects delivered by subcontractors, on behalf of the MOD. This role ensures that outsourced designs meet technical, regulatory, and business requirements while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. The successful candidate will play a supporting role as the technical authority, bridging the gap between the company's engineering requirements and subcontractor performance.
