Job summary

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer, Global Design SME, to translate OPRs into the Global Reference Design and to localise deployments via partners.

You will collaborate across internal teams and regional delivery units to ensure robust, scalable designs for hyperscale data centers. You will lead complex electrical projects, mentor engineers, apply HV/MV/LV expertise, and drive best practices in design, testing and commissioning, while staying ahead of industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in data centers and mission-critical facilities.
• Strong expertise in HV/MV/LV systems, protection coordination and commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee complex electrical engineering projects from concept to execution.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level and junior engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in data center electrical systems.
• Contribute to development and optimization of electrical designs and upgrades.
• Prepare and present technical reports to senior management.

Experience a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive workplace where your ideas are valued, and your growth is supported.Your role at a glanceThe Electrical Engineer, Global Design SME is a key member of the NTT Global Design Standards team, working on and delivering translation of the NTT GID Design ‘Product’ defined Owners Project Requirements (OPR) into the Global Reference Design (GRD).They provide Regional (EMEA) and Global understanding of the GRD and its engineering detail as it is required to be localised and deployed through third party Architects and Engineers (A/E’s).They will interface with internal stakeholders from parallel business functions, the NTT Product team and regional design delivery teams and design managers.They will support in project design reviews at all stages of project design and delivery on an as required basis.They will consult with members of our Engineering, Expansion, Construction, Operations, Product and Sales teams to ensure optimal design decisions are made with careful assessment of risks and opportunities.They will work closely with the Technical Director of Global Design Standards to drive effectiveness, efficiency and predictability at scale in the development and adoption of best practice design process and procedures.They will support in the management of the Global Design Standards team advising on workload, prioritisation and development areas.What we are looking forResponsibilitiesLead and oversee complex electrical engineering projects, from concept to execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulationsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level and entry-level electrical engineersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation in electrical systems for Data Center infrastructureContribute to the development and optimization of electrical systems and upgradesStay informed about emerging trends and best practices in electrical engineering and apply them to enhance our operations.Prepare and present technical reports and updates to senior managementKnowledge & AttributesIn-depth expertise in HV/MV/LV Electrical systems, Short Circuit & Discrimination studies, Arc Flash Analysis, Power Quality Analysis and electrical distribution coordinationAdvanced proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) & Building Information Modelling (BIM) software for complex designs,Strong ability to optimize and fine-tune engineering systems for maximum efficiencyHighly developed understanding of commissioning processes and test scriptsComprehensive understanding of data center infrastructure and its integration with engineering systemsLeadership and mentorship skills for guiding other engineers internal and externalProficient in managing personal and professional commitments while working with teams in different time zonesAbility to work in multinational, interdisciplinary and culturally diverse teamsAcknowledged technical expert in a field of design and or specification relevant to the data centre sectorQualifications & ExperienceBachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical disciplineMembership of a professional institution recognised as relevant to the data centre sectorSeveral years of experience in data centres and or other mission critical M&E led industriesExperience of working in multi disciplinary design teams preferably in a leading roleExperience in design consultant / client Engineer / site engineer / contractor engineer rolesInternational experience and outlook both in type of company and project experienceIdeally has experience with hyperscale customersPreferably has detailed knowledge of operational functionality of Data CentersWho we areAs the third largest data center provider, we operate over 150 data centers in more than 20 countries and regions.
