Job summary

Aureos seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator to work across Bristol, Exeter, Portsmouth and Swindon with hybrid working. You will develop accurate estimates and manage bids for a mix of pre-designed and design-and-build projects, ensuring that client requirements and technical issues are fully considered.

You’ll prioritise your workload, maintain tender records, and coordinate with Lead Estimator, Operational Teams and procurement/work winning teams to ensure accuracy, value and competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Experience with high voltage installations (11kV/33kV).
• Proven bid development and value engineering experience.
• Able to prepare schedules of rates and takeoffs from drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate estimates and manage bids for pre-designed and design-and-build projects.
• Prioritise workload and maintain tender records with Lead Estimator and teams.
• Use Trimble Contract Master for preparing estimates.
• Manage client and stakeholder requests in a professional manner.
• Undertake site visits to understand project requirements.

Inthisrole,you’lldevelopaccurateestimatesandmanagebidsfora mix of both pre-designed anddesignandbuildprojects,includinglargeandmorecomplexmajorschemesensuringthatallclientrequirementsandtechnicalissuesarefullyconsidered.You’llalsoholdresponsibilityforoptionappraisalsandidentifyingandapplyingalternativesolutionstoenhancebidprofitabilityandthedeliveryofvalue

engineering.

You’llprioritiseandmanageyourownworkload,maintainaccuraterecordsof tenderssubmittedwhileinterfacingwiththeLead Estimator, OperationalTeamsandourWorkWinning/Procurementteams.Thiswillbe completedwiththeobjectiveofensuringaccuracy,bestvalueandcompetitivenessofestimateandaccommodationofthesupplychaincriticalpath.

Yourrolewillinvolve;

• Providingaccuratetakeoffsandmaintainingahighlevelof competencywhenpreparingprimecostestimates.
• DevelopingValueEngineeringProposalsandprovidinginnovationwhereapplicable.
• CompetentlyusingTrimbleContractMasterforpreparing estimates.
• Managingclientandkeystakeholderrequestsinaprofessional andtimelymanner.
• Undertaking site visitstounderstand the project requirements

WhatdoIneedtobesuccessfulintherole?

WearelookingforyoutobringyourabilitytoprepareScheduleofRates, “takeoff”quantitiesfromdrawingsorbillofquantities,andhaveprevious experiencewithinanHVenvironment.

You’llalso have strong commercial and business awareness to enable you toidentifyand recommendappropriate bidproposals that meet the client needs. Therefore, you must be highly motivated andaccurate, as attention to detail is vital, as is excellent Math’s and IT skills.

In addition,you’llpossessa proventrackrecordforsecuringworkswithinthemarketplacehavinga

technicalknowledgeofandcoveringabroadscopeofworksinclusiveof:

• Knowledge of various HV installations including Transformers, Switchgear Protection and Controls centredmainly around11kV but also ideally 33kV.
• HVInfrastructureupgrades/newinstallations.
• Cableinstallationandjointingworks.
• Building Services
• Civilsworks-understandingoftrenching,backfilling,plantandequipmentrequirementsforprojectsandaccuratevettingofquotationsfromsupplychainpartners.
• StaffManagementandDeliveryteamrequirementsonsite.
• Testing&Commissioning
• Ideallyhavedesignandbuildcapabilitywiththeabilitytoevaluatedesignscopegapsontenders.
