Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering team in Manchester. You will be responsible for leading electrical services design across a range of projects from feasibility through delivery, working within an interdisciplinary team to maximise project value and support Net Zero goals.

You will apply advanced design skills, engage with clients and external teams, and contribute to BIM-enabled workflows and digital design initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Services Engineering, ideally Masters.
• Chartered Engineer status via IET or CIBSE.
• Excellent design and technical skills.
• Lead design responsibility on Electrical Services Engineering projects.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary design teams from inception to completion.
• Demonstrable experience in electrical building services design across project scales.
• Strong planning and organisation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Developing commercial awareness and external stakeholder relationships.
• Committed to professional development and challenging work.
• Passion for design and sustainable building design.
• Ability in design analysis software.
• Experience in BIM environment using Revit is beneficial.
• Experience managing small teams.
• Interest in training and developing younger engineers.

Responsibilities

• Apply electrical engineering expertise across the full project lifecycle from feasibility to completion.
• Lead electrical services design on a range of commercial, residential and mixed-use projects.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver integrated solutions.
