Job summary

SSE plc is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the engineering and design of private networks and electrical infrastructure within the Distributed Energy business. You’ll develop design for Electrical Distribution projects for large HV and EHV networks, ensuring compliance with legislation and design standards.

• Understanding of UK energy regulations and standards.
• Experience delivering HV/EHV projects.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Transmission/Distribution operators to develop schemes and provide technical leadership for complex deliverables.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to produce detailed design and specifications for electrical network infrastructure.
• Lead design development and costing with commercial awareness while managing design contracts.
• Promote a positive SHE culture during the design phase.
