Job summary

Kantor Energy, based in our London office, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and delivery on heat network projects across the UK, with a London focus. You will engage with supply chain, drive technical decisions and work under the Project Lead Engineer.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical engineering within energy, strong LV power systems knowledge and proficiency with Amtech, AutoCAD, Revit and SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Level 8/Hons).
• Minimum 5 years' electrical engineering experience, preferably in the energy sector.
• Strong understanding of LV power systems, transformers, switchgear, cabling, PFC and UPS.
• Experience with Amtech or similar cable sizing software.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and SolidWorks.
• Willingness to engage across multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Concept design, detailed design and project delivery electrical engineering across a range of scales and types of heat network projects around the UK, with a focus on the London area.
• Engagement with supply chain during initial procurement and delivery phases to ensure optimal product selection and delivery.
• Act as lead electrical engineer on a number of live projects, working directly under the Project Lead Engineer.
• Primarily site-based role (most sites based in London, with some potential for site attendance outside of London also), with time also spent in the Kantor/Dornan London office, as need dictates.
• Review, analysis and reporting on project performance.

Kantor Energy are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on various Kantor projects, based in the Kantor/Dornan London Office.

Kantor is a specialist engineering contractor, that has been designing and building innovative and sustainable energy systems for clients across the UK and Ireland for over 12 years.

We are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dornan Engineering Group.

Dornan are a leading Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation contractor with over £600m annual turnover and with projects in Ireland, Mainland Europe, the Nordics and the UK.

Roles and responsibilities:

Experience/Qualifications Required:

• Level 8 / Honours Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Min 5 years' experience in an electrical engineering role, preferably within the energy sector
• Flexible and enthusiastic approach, with a willingness to take on novel challenges
• Good understanding of LV power systems for industrial, commercial and multi-residential facilities and in particular transformers, main distribution boards, sub-distribution boards, cabling and containment systems, PFC units and UPS systems.
• Capability (and ideally experience) in cable sizing calculation software, e.g. Amtech.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, in particular MS Excel and MS Word
• Some experience preferable in use of computer drawing software, e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks
• Desire to experience full project engineering lifecycle, from early concept design through to construction, commissioning and operation
• Willingness to engage and collaborate with a wide range of multi-disciplinary counterparties
