Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead HV substation design across major infrastructure projects in the UK and Ireland.

Based in the UK or Ireland, you will develop plant layouts, specify HV equipment, and act as Owners' Engineer on HV substations, cables, and OHL works on a varied portfolio including renewables.

Qualifications

• Experience on HV projects.
• Experience developing specifications for substation systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and locations in the UK/Ireland.
• Fluency in English and experience in technical report writing.

Here is what we're looking for:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience of working on HV projects
• Experience of working with major utilities or developers
• Experience as a designer or as project engineer
• Experience of developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
• Fluency in English
• Experience in technical report writing
• Full driving license and access to a personal vehicle as site visits may be required as part of this role
• Ideally have experience of working on multi-discipline engineering projects
• Ideally hold Chartered accreditation or working toward status
• Ideally have consultancy experience
