Job summary

Astute is recruiting a Group Senior Electrical Engineer to support enfinium's EfW assets, focusing on long-term strategy for electrical integrity and performance of HV/LV systems.

Reporting to the Asset Management Director, you will lead technical governance, drive maintenance strategy, outages, lifecycle plans and ensure safety compliance across multi-site operations in the UK. A Chartered Engineer or progression toward registration is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Substantial electrical engineering experience in power generation or utilities.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems including protection, switchgear and transformers.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress toward professional registration.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior technical authority for electrical engineering across sites.
• Develop and maintain electrical standards, specifications, philosophies and guidance.
• Provide specialist support for HV and LV systems, including protection, switchgear and transformers.
• Lead complex electrical fault investigations, root-cause analysis and reliability improvements.
• Assess electrical asset condition, criticality and lifecycle planning.
• Lead electrical scope for outages, capital projects and commissioning activities.
• Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and life-cycle cost.
• Identify critical spares and investment requirements with robust business cases.
• Manage electrical engineering budgets, forecasts and contractor oversight.
• Ensure compliance with electrical legislation and safe systems of work.
