Job summary

TSS in Perth (CBD) seeks an experienced Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer (EIC) to lead electrical, instrumentation and control design across mining, energy and chemicals projects. You will be hands-on delivering EIC solutions from study through to commissioning in a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of EIC engineering experience in greenfield/brownfield settings, strong HV/LV knowledge, and a Chartered engineer pathway (CPEng) is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years' experience delivering EIC engineering solutions within mining, minerals processing, energy or heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience across greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Strong understanding of HV/LV power systems and industrial electrical design.
• Practical knowledge of instrumentation and control systems within processing plant environments.
• Experience working through the full project lifecycle from studies through to commissioning.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and build strong client relationships.
• CPEng or working towards chartership will be viewed favourably.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of electrical, instrumentation and control (EIC) design packages across multiple projects.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations, specifications, datasheets and technical documentation.
• Develop electrical designs covering HV/LV power distribution, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, earthing and lighting.
• Provide input into instrumentation and control system design, including control philosophies, instrument selection, I/O schedules and functional design documentation.
• Review vendor documentation, technical submissions and equipment selections.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support projects through study, FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and technical risk assessments.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers where required.
• Liaise directly with clients, vendors and site personnel throughout project delivery.
