Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Building Engineering Services team in the UK. You will drive electrical design across a range of projects, taking responsibility from feasibility through to delivery, in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting.

You will need a Masters in Electrical Services Engineering and Chartered Engineer status, with strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for sustainable building design.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Services Engineering, ideally to Masters level.
• Chartered Engineer status via IET or CIBSE.
• Experience leading electrical services design on projects.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary design teams and BIM using Revit is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical services design on projects from inception through to completion.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver optimized building services.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians within the team.
• Deliver high-quality electrical designs using BIM tools such as Revit.

We have opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer looking for technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects, to join our established Building Engineering team. Arup’s Building Engineering Services team are currently working on a wide range of projects.

Apply your engineering expertise to help shape and deliver innovative projects within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, designing buildings that maximise value for our clients while supporting their journey towards Net Zero Carbon. You will play an active role throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies through to completion, working across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, residential, education, energy, sport, healthcare and mixed-use developments. As part of our commitment to digital innovation, you will contribute to the ongoing transformation of our business by exploring new ways to improve efficiency through automation and leveraging our integrated digital design approach to deliver enhanced services and better outcomes for our clients.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking to speak to people who:

• Degree qualified in Electrical Services Engineering, ideally to Masters level.
• Have achieved Chartered Engineer status via an appropriate professional institution such as IET or CIBSE
• Excellent design and technical skills
• Have had lead design responsibility on projects for the Electrical Services Engineering
• Have experience of and enjoy working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary design teams, contributing to projects from inception to completion.
• Demonstrable experience in the field of electrical building services design with experience across a range of project scales and building types
• Strong planning and organisation skills
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness and be developing successful relationships with external team members
• Committed to their own professional development and looking for challenging work to develop their engineering skill.
• A passion for design and an enthusiasm for architecture and sustainable building design.
• Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude and experience in design analysis software.
• Experience of working within a BIM environment using Revit beneficial.
• Experience of managing small teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects
• Experience in and interest in training and developing younger engineers and technicians
