Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a permanent, home-based role with optional offices in London, Oxford, Edinburgh, and Horsham. The candidate will lead renewables engineering projects, conduct site visits, and coordinate contractors across multiple site locations.

The ideal candidate has substantial senior electrical experience, strong hands-on design capability, and knowledge of T&D systems. Travel to sites will be required to support project delivery.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrical Engineer with significant experience in a Senior Electrical Engineer position.
• Experience in engineering design and consultancy, particularly in the renewables sector.
• Understanding of transmission and distribution (T&D) systems; ICPs or IDNOs experience advantageous.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Our client, a pioneering company in the renewables sector, is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a permanent, home-based role with the possibility of utilising our client's offices in London, Oxford, Edinburgh, and Horsham. The successful candidate must be willing to travel for site visits as required, bringing their expertise to various renewable energy projects, particularly in solar and transmission.

Job Requirements

• Qualified Electrical Engineer with significant experience in a Senior Electrical Engineer position
• Strong practical and hands-on electrical engineering experience
• Experience in engineering design and consultancy, particularly in the renewables sector
• Proven track record in construction projects and engineering consultancy environments
• Understanding of transmission and distribution (T&D) systems, experience with Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) or Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs) is advantageous
• In-depth knowledge of relevant policies, regulations, and industry standards
• Excellent stakeholder and site management skills with the ability to provide clear solutions
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
