Job description

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and work on the design, validation, verification and certification of future Electrical Power Distribution Systems (PDS) for aerospace applications. This role involves working with voltage ranges from 28V up to 1500V, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (i.e ED-332, AS7499 and DO-160G.)

Requirements

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of power distribution system in accordance with the relevant regulations and standards. Including the development of EMC/HIRF and power quality requirements

Responsibilities:

• Support the design of the high voltage architecture and all high voltage equipment for the Hydrogen Electric Engine.
• Perform analysis and testing of power distribution components and systems to verify compliance with specifications and requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve power distribution system issues and problems using diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Prepare and maintain power distribution system documentation, records, and reports for validation and verification in accordance with the applicable procedures and regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other engineers, technicians, and operators on power distribution system related matters.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments and best practices in PDS engineering.
• Contribute to technical review gates such as Concept Readiness Review, Preliminary Design Review & Critical Design Review. CAA Panel discipline 5 categories a), b) c) and d.
• Develop and analyse electrical loads across various aircraft states for the high voltage system.
• Proficiency in software and tools for power distribution system design and development
• Proficient in using the toolset MATLab
• Skilled in using the toolset PLECS

Collaboration:

• Collaborating with design teams, certification authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Experience Required:

• Aviation/Aerospace Experience is a vital requirement
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, avionics engineering, or related field.
• Must have a minimum 6 years of experience in Power Distribution design in the aviation industry.
• Strong understanding of power electronics used in equipment such High Voltage Solid State Power Controllers.
• Ability to build and run verification and validation testing to support system qualification and certification activities.
• Experience in PDS analysis, testing, inspection, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of A/C regulations, standards, and guidelines such as [AMC 20-136], [AMC 20-158] and certification panels such as Panel 5 categories a), b) c) and d.
