Job summary

KLA Corporation invites an experienced engineer to join the Equipment Engineering and Development Group within the SPTS division, focusing on designing and integrating semiconductor process equipment. You will work across electrical, electronic and mechanical domains, prototype build/test and validation, and support transitions from development to production at customer sites.

Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical, electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on approach with learning from engineering team to support Alpha & Beta Systems and retrofits.
  • Experience designing, testing, and delivering electrical solutions.
  • Understanding of machinery safety regulations and EN60204/EN13849 is desired.
  • Willingness for domestic and international travel.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
  • Strong fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with PLC processes and testing/compliance to international standards.
  • RF and/or plasma experience is desired.

Job description

  • Design and implement ETCH semiconductor process equipment
  • Wiring harness and electrical design, some mechanical design
  • Leading or a heavy involvement in building and testing prototypes
  • Plan and execute hardware testing, validation, and performance characterisation

  • Supporting the transition of designs from development to production

    As the successful candidate, you will be an experienced Engineer with an understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical systems, and will be capable of building a solid expertise in overall system operation, integration, and calibrations/diagnostics. Must have a hands-on approach by learning from the engineering team to support Alpha & Beta Systems and retrofits.

    You'll team up with other specialists within a project advising on equipment design/integration. We work to tight deadlines in a highly regulated industry.

  • Occasional domestic and international travel, including to the United States, may be required as part of this role
  • Experience designing, testing, and delivering electrical solutions
  • Experience of fault diagnosis
  • RF and/or plasma experience is desired
  • Minimum HNC Electrical/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics or related field and experience in a customer facing role
  • An understanding of Machinery safety regulations and EU harmonised standards, EN60204, EN13849 is desired
  • AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent experience 3D CAD experience is desired
