Job summary

NP Aerospace is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead advanced electrical systems for next-generation armoured vehicles. You will shape electrical architecture, integrating EMC, ECM/EECM protection, BOWMAN communication, and complex sub-systems.

You’ll own specifications, drive design options, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver validated, field-ready solutions that protect lives and support global defence operations.

Qualifications

• A proven track record delivering electrical design projects in defence or automotive.
• Experience in a design office using 3D CAD (Creo 9.0 preferred).
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics and cable/harness design to BS8888.
• Familiar with EMC/ECM/EECM and armoured vehicle subsystems.
• Experience with configuration control and change management (Def Stan 05-57).
• Experience in validation and verification including environmental requirements.
• Strong systems engineering understanding and ability to produce Design FMEAs.
• Excellent communication with internal/external stakeholders.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept to details, meeting customer requirements and standards.
• Create specifications, present design options, and guide solutions through the lifecycle.
• Translate requirements into validated designs with production and lifecycle support.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and customers for robust, field-ready systems.
