Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited in the UK is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a permanent role within our Chemical & Wastewater Solutions platform. You will lead design efforts from scoping to implementation in a multi-disciplinary team, focusing on safe, low-carbon solutions.

You will develop electrical and instrumentation concepts, undertake site surveys, and guide EICA inputs while supporting project delivery with our construction and commissioning teams.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of British and European design standards.
• Experience as an Electrical Engineer in design office and construction in water/related process industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and instrumentation/control concepts and detailed designs.
• Carry out electrical site surveys to identify solutions.
• Lead EICA engineering input and review of design solutions.

What Are We Looking For?

Our Chemical & Wastewater Solutions business platform are looking to hire an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer on a permanent basis. Working as part of an established multi-disciplinary design function, you will take on a fully supported leading role in all aspects of projects, from scoping and detailed design through to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards, with a strong focus on low‑carbon solutions.

Some of your key duties include:

• Developing industry leading electrical and instrumentation/control concept and detailed designs.
• Carrying out Electrical site surveys to identify the most appropriate and innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Play a critical role in leading the EICA engineering input and review of design solutions.
• Providing technical guidance on EICA matters to the wider project teams.
• Carrying out the planning and implementation of projects in association with the Delivery Management teams.
• Leading and participating in safety studies etc.,
• Working with our in‑house construction and commissioning teams to ensure we delivery a high‑quality solution to our clients.

What Do You Need?

• Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of British and European design standards.
• A proven track record as an Electrical Engineer in both a design office and a construction environment within the water (or related process) industry.
• Full UK Driving Licence
