Qualifications

• 4-5+ years’ experience as a Design Engineer in the manufacturing sector.
• Strong technical hands-on experience and knowledge 2D / 3D CAD drawings.
• Full UK Driver’s License essential.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD drawings.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the planning and design of products for cleaning applications.
• Debug complex problems across hardware, software, and electrical systems.
• Maintain documentation and ensure high standards are met.
• Maintain documentation and pass accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with other teams to define design requirements and resolve issues early.
• Demonstrate working systems via experimental validation of their operation.
• Provide drawings and specifications for robotic system builds.
• Coordinate with external fabricators to source correct parts.
• Work daily with heavy industrial machinery.
• Help develop and grow the design team.

Job Title – Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Job Location – South Co. Down

About the Company:

A leading Manufacturing company based in South Down is recruiting for a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their ever-expanding team and to work with all departments.

The successful candidate will be working alongside the wider team developing new innovative products and improving the functionality of existing systems.

You will study, research, design and develop ideas for new products and the systems used to make them as well as modify existing products to increase efficiency or improve performance. You will also support other Designers and Junior Designers in their work and encourage and develop their skills.

Duties Include:

• Contribute to the planning and design of products for all cleaning applications.
• Debug complex problems that span across hardware, software, and electrical systems, prioritising tasks effectively to meet agreed-on timelines.
• To attain all approvals and certifications that include ATEX.
• Maintain documentation, ensure high standards are met and with pass accreditation.
• Work within a team environment in order to develop and solve any solutions.
• Work closely with other teams by defining design requirements and helping identify issues during early design, proof of concept and production stages.
• Demonstrate working systems through experimental validation to establish their operational limit.
• Provide all drawings and specifications for the build of the robotic systems.
• Operate efficiently and effectively with external fabricators in order to receive the correct parts.
• Ability to work with heavy industrial machinery on a day-to-day basis.
• Work within a team environment and to develop and build a successful team.

Essential Criteria:

• 4-5+ years’ experience as a Design Engineer working within the manufacturing sector.
• Degree educated in a relevant subject in Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of robotics, electrical control systems and PLC programming.
• A strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
• Strong technical hands-on experience and knowledge 2D / 3D CAD drawings.
• Full UK Driver’s License essential.
• Excellent use of MS Office.
