Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Rate: £41.28 per hour | Inside IR35 | Location: Epsom / London

About the role

A leading building design practice is seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer to support projects across London & the South East. Projects span aviation, residential, commercial, education, healthcare, transport, defence, and energy.

Responsibilities
  • Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems (power, lighting, earthing, life safety, security, lifts, telecoms, lightning protection).
  • Perform detailed calculations using Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, Excel, and in-house tools.
  • Produce NBS specifications, Revit models, reports, and technical notes.
  • Undertake site surveys, inspections, and monitor works.
  • Manage workload, contribute to project delivery, and mentor junior staff.
Requirements
  • Degree in Building Services or Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (CIBSE/IET preferred).
  • Experience in consultancy or contractor design environment.
  • Competent with design software and Microsoft Office; HV experience beneficial.
  • Knowledge of energy reduction, decarbonisation, and building physics.
