81209 - Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Bury St Edmunds, UK

Salary: £80,574 + Car Allowance + 3% Bonus

Blended Working: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote (after 6-month probation)

About the Role: Join our Engineering Design - Capital Programme & Procurement team as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. You will be responsible for producing and assuring high-quality electrical designs for both non-contestable and contestable works. Your designs will meet UK Power Networks design and CDM standards and will be delivered to cost, time, and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and assure electrical designs in compliance with standards and CDM requirements.
  • Deliver effective designs conforming to relevant Codes of Practice and industry standards.
  • Contribute to technical, commercial, and contractual documents for procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Undertake peer reviews of contestable design submissions.
  • Provide excellent service to customers and work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Mentor and support team members to enhance their technical knowledge.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Electrical engineering background with experience in power system and protection design at various voltages.
  • Extensive knowledge of design processes and relevant standards.
  • Ability to work with external engineering organizations and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and safety culture.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Degree level or equivalent in engineering or science.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
