The Role

As a Senior Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you’ll be part of a specialist team delivering launch control systems for UK submarines - some of the most advanced and complex systems in the world. Your expertise will shape the future of defence technology, ensuring our systems meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and innovation. Day-to-day you’ll be required to:

  • Lead electrical design activities and contribute to hands-on work in our electrical labs
  • Integrate compliance and regulatory standards into current and future designs
  • Familiarise yourself with system architecture and drive technical upgrades
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and engage with internal and external stakeholders

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home. You may be required onsite as and when required by the business.

Essential Experience
  • Working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams and reporting to project leads or customers.
  • Applying engineering compliance and regulatory standards to design work.
  • Demonstrating technical knowledge in control systems, instrumentation, motor control, electronics, and PLC programming.
  • Using electrical design software and interpreting circuit diagrams (AutoCAD Electrical desirable).
  • Supporting and developing junior team members.
Qualifications
  • HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with significant demonstrable experience.
  • Experience with Document Management Systems (Teamcenter desirable).
  • Familiarity with ATEX and equipment used in hazardous areas (advantageous).

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
