Job summary

Caval Limited seeks an experienced Electrical Authorised Person (AP) and QA Supervisor for a six-month freelance contract at Sky Gardens, Leeds. You will manage ESSW, issue permits, and support electrical QA across the project. Initially a part-time AP responsibility alongside QA duties, with workload expanding as the project progresses.

The role requires coordinating with site management and subcontractors to maintain safety and quality standards, with a start date mid to late October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience as Electrical Authorised Person on construction or M&E projects.
• Experience managing Electrical Safe Systems of Work and issuing electrical permits.
• Knowledge of Limitation of Access, Permit to Work on a Live System and Sanction for Live Testing procedures.
• Electrical QA/QC experience, including inspections, snagging and quality documentation.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and installation standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage Electrical Safe Systems of Work (ESSW) in accordance with BFL procedures.
• Issue and manage electrical permits, including Limitation of Access, Permit to Work on a Live System and Sanction for Live Testing.
• Ensure electrical works are carried out in line with the relevant safety procedures and project requirements.
• Carry out electrical QA inspections to ensure installations meet the required standards and specifications.
• Identify defects, record snags and ensure remedial works are completed.
• Review electrical installations against drawings and project specifications.
• Maintain accurate quality assurance records and associated documentation.
• Liaise with site management, subcontractors and the wider project team to resolve electrical safety and quality issues.
