Overview

West Sussex Based Council is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to join their Environmental Protection team. This interim opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in environmental protection and development control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and respond to planning and development control applications, providing expert environmental health input.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints related to statutory nuisance, air quality, contaminated land, and other environmental protection matters.
  • Provide technical advice and support on noise, vibration, and acoustics issues.
  • Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, and members of the public to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Prepare reports, statements, and documentation for enforcement action or legal proceedings when required.
  • Contribute to policy development and service improvement initiatives within the Environmental Protection team.
Essential Requirements
  • Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
