Job summary

Aion Silicon is seeking a Senior EDA & HPC Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve our Linux-based EDA compute platform and AWS-backed infrastructure. The role combines hands-on Linux system administration with cloud engineering, to ensure performance, licensing stability and scalable compute for engineering workloads.

You will manage licence servers, grid services and production scheduling while driving automation, security and cost control across a global engineering environment.

Qualifications

• End-to-end EDA licence management across a multi-account AWS environment.
• Production job schedulers such as SLURM, LSF or Grid Engine.
• Linux administration at scale (RHEL/ Rocky Linux).
• OS/kernel tuning, patching and lifecycle management.
• Storage performance tuning for I/O-intensive workloads (NFS, cloud-native).
• Production AWS environments with EC2, EBS, S3, VPC, IAM.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation.
• Automation with Python or Bash; CI pipelines integration.
• Network fault diagnosis across VLANs, routing and switching.
• Monitoring and alerting for compute, storage and licence utilisation.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the Linux-based EDA and HPC compute farm.
• Manage licence servers, grid services, production scheduling and shared storage.
• Optimize job throughput, queue behaviour, and licence availability.
• Develop and extend IaC and automation to enable secure, repeatable builds.
• Operate AWS infrastructure across multi-account estates and ensure security and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to balance throughput and cost.
• Provide visibility of tool availability and licence utilisation to the business.
• Support routine service requests and complex infrastructure incidents.
