Job summary

Haskoning is seeking a Principal Ecology Consultant to lead complex terrestrial ecology projects, providing expert advice from feasibility through to delivery. You will lead, mentor junior staff and engage with clients to ensure high-quality outputs and positive biodiversity outcomes.

Qualifications

• Extensive ecological consultancy experience across development projects.
• Degree in ecology or environmental science, or equivalent.
• Experience with Ecological Impact Assessments and Habitats Regulations Assessments.
• One or more Natural England protected species licences and CIEEM membership; CEcol/CEnv advantageous.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and a valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and deliver protected species surveys and ecological fieldwork.
• Prepare and review ecological assessments, mitigation strategies and management plans.
• Support project management and client engagement, maintaining strong relationships.
