Senior Ecologist Job Overview

Senior Ecologist - A senior level position suited to someone with a strong work ethic and the confidence to take initiative without relying heavily on others. You'll be expected to take ownership of your workload, contribute effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, and provide expert ecological input across a range of nationwide schemes. The role is primarily office-based, with regular travel to sites across the UK, working closely alongside surveyors and planning consultants.

Responsibilities
  • Support a range of planning and environmental permitting projects for waste management and minerals developments across the UK.
Qualifications
  • 3-4 years minimum experience working as an Ecologist.
  • Confident working by yourself.
  • Comfortable with regular travel to project sites across England.
  • Strong initiative and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong understanding of UK habitats, protected species and relevant planning legislation.
  • Ability to lead and deliver ecological surveys and reports to support planning and permitting applications.
  • Confident liaising with clients, regulators and internal technical teams.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum.
