We’re looking for a Senior Ecologist to join our established Birmingham team and play a key role in delivering innovative, high-quality ecological solutions across the UK. You’ll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary consultancy known for tackling complex environmental challenges – from large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects to local biodiversity enhancement initiatives.
As a Senior Ecologist, you’ll lead ecological assessments and manage a range of projects from inception to completion. You’ll provide technical expertise, oversee field teams, and ensure the delivery of robust, pragmatic ecological advice to clients in both the public and private sectors.

Plan, lead and deliver ecological surveys and impact assessments
Manage projects, budgets, and timelines, ensuring quality and compliance
Mentor and support junior team members in both technical and professional development
Prepare and review technical reports, including EcIA and HRA documents
Provide expert ecological input to multi-disciplinary design and planning teams
Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development initiatives
Degree in ecology or related environmental discipline
Extensive experience in ecological consultancy, including project management
Strong knowledge of UK and European wildlife legislation and planning policy
Full membership (or working towards) of CIEEM
Proven experience leading surveys and preparing ecological assessments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work
