Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an exceptionally skilled Echocardiographer at Band 7 level, with strong clinical ability and a drive to develop managerial skills.

The role involves training and managing Echocardiographers, participating in QA, and reviewing echos performed by junior staff. Accreditation with BSE (or equivalent) is essential and support for postgraduate studies is available.

Qualifications

• Accreditation with BSE (or equivalent) is essential.
• Interest in training and managing Echocardiographers.
• Support the development of the Echocardiography Department.
• Involvement in QA programmes and review of echos performed by junior staff.
• Research or postgraduate study supported where possible.

Responsibilities

• Review echocardiograms performed by junior staff as part of QA.
• Lead training and supervise echocardiographers and physiologists.
• Participate in weekly echo meetings and address operational issues.
• Support development of the department and collaborate on digital healthcare initiatives.
