A prominent healthcare provider in Glasgow is seeking a Specialist Eating Disorder Nurse to join the Adult Eating Disorder Community Team. The role involves providing psychological care for patients with complex needs, working in a multi-disciplinary team, and developing treatment programs. The shift pattern for this post is: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to fill the post of a Specialist Eating Disorder Nurse within the GGC Adult Eating Disorder Community Team. The Eating Disorders Service is a well-established dynamic multi-disciplinary outpatient Service, currently going through a period of service improvement. The service supports patients with a wide range of eating disorder presentations including those who have severe and/or enduring difficulties that require a multi-disciplinary approach.
The post holder will provide psychological care and treatment for individuals with complex mental, physical and social care needs who present with an eating disorder. Treatment may involve individual/group therapy, intensive home treatment/care or a period working in in-patient care. The Adult Eating Disorder Service aims to provide an alternative to hospital admission where possible. However, on occasion in-patient treatment will be required. The post holder will remain closely involved in patients care during admission to partnership beds.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team within the context of a regional wide service, the post holder will have responsibility for the assessment of patient care needs and the development and evaluation of programmes of care. They will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals in line with agreed standards, clinical polices and without direct supervision, for those patients who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder.
The post holder will be based in the Adult Eating Disorder Service (AEDS) based at Florence street Glasgow. The post holder will be line managed by the Nurse Team Lead and will have supervision from a designated clinician within the AED service.
