Job Summary

Responsible for supporting White Cap’s digital and e-commerce efforts by working closely with customers, internal teams, and technology platforms. Manages e-quotes, keeping product catalogs accurate, supporting tools like Optimizely, punchout setups, and Oracle order processing. Assists customers with using digital solutions efficiently, solves issues quickly, and works with different teams to ensure a seamless process from quote to delivery.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Guides new customers through connected commerce platform setup for a smooth activation.
  • Coordinates punchout setups with internal teams and customer IT contacts.
  • Provides daily service for integrated accounts, resolve issues, and escalates when needed.
  • Administers e-quote requests from start to finish with fast turnaround and clear communication.
  • Understands all aspects of the E-Commerce platform Optimizely, including site content, product data, promotions, and troubleshooting issues from the field.
  • Works with sales, IT, and operations to support connected commerce initiatives.
  • Maintains hosted catalogs with up-to-date SKUs, pricing, and availability.
  • Oversees order processing, track progress, and troubleshoot errors.
  • Ensures alignment with teams and customers through clear documentation and communication.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Nature and Scope

Identifies key barriers / core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.

Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Education and Experience

Typically requires BS / BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS / MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical acumen, effective communication.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms, such as Optimizely and Magento.
  • ERP knowledge, Oracle.
  • Experience with TradeCentric and PunchOut solutions.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Resides in Birmingham, AL area with ability to come into the office daily
