Senior E C & I Engineer
  • Location: Warrington
  • Contract: 12 Months+
  • IR35 Status: Inside IR35
  • Rate: £51.00 - £57.00 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Security Clearance: BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard)
Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior E C & I Engineer to lead and deliver engineering and technical activities across complex projects. You will apply expert domain knowledge to resolve technical challenges, produce high-quality engineering deliverables, mentor junior staff, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. Operating with a high degree of independence, you will uphold engineering best practice and ensure compliance with relevant standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering design and development activities within your specialist discipline.
  • Tackle a wide range of engineering challenges involving high levels of complexity and uncertainty.
  • Provide direction, support and mentoring to less experienced team members.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety standards and be fully conversant with authorised documentation, Good Practice guides and ISO standards.
  • Promote effective collaboration across Engineering and wider functional teams.
  • Support customer engagement and relationship development, ensuring progress is effectively communicated.
  • Identify and apply relevant procedures, codes and standards to all engineering work.
  • Contribute to Project Safety Assessments.
  • Communicate and manage project and task risks appropriately.
  • Produce, review and approve engineering deliverables including calculations, analyses, drawings, models, technical reports and design basis documents.
  • Assess and manage design changes, concessions and technical queries.
  • Maintain engineering configuration and design intent throughout the lifecycle.
  • Evaluate technical issues and propose investigative or improvement activities.
  • Support project planning, control and delivery.
  • Make engineering decisions within your delegated authority.
  • Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorised.
  • Drive high standards of HSE performance and champion positive behaviours.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and promote engineering best practice.
  • Capture and contribute to Learning from Experience (LfE) during and after projects.
  • Support business development and tendering processes.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with significant demonstrable experience.
  • Chartered Engineer status or actively working toward chartership.
  • Strong background in multi-disciplinary project delivery.
  • Experience across a diverse range of technical tasks and complexities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other disciplines.
Desirable
  • Membership of a relevant professional institute or extensive experience supporting registration with the Engineering Council.
  • Experience managing engineering scope from concept through to EPC.
  • Broad experience across commercial and/or defence projects.
Minimum Verified Qualifications

Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with significant demonstrable experience.
