Job summary

Pearson Carter recruit for a Senior Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer for a hybrid role in Northamptonshire. You will design, develop and maintain BC customisations and extensions using AL and Visual Studio Code, and collaborate with stakeholders on technical specifications.

You will mentor junior developers, lead development across projects and drive integrations with APIs and web services, while supporting upgrades and deployments.

Qualifications

• 8 years' Dynamics NAV / C/AL development experience.
• 5 years' Dynamics 365 Business Central / AL development experience.
• Strong experience with AL, C/AL, Visual Studio Code and Git.

Senior Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer – Northamptonshire

Pearson Carter are currently working with an established Microsoft Partner based in Northamptonshire, specialising in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV.

With over 19 years of experience delivering Dynamics solutions, they have grown from a small team of 4 to 24 and have built a strong reputation for delivering effective systems that provide real value to their clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer to join a close-knit, family-run business with a flat management structure, where you will have significant autonomy and your input will be genuinely valued.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central customisations and extensions using AL and Visual Studio Code
• Work closely with functional consultants and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Develop integrations with third-party systems and internal applications using APIs and web services
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across multiple environments
• Support Business Central upgrades, data migrations and new functionality deployments
• Apply Business Central best practices across source control, testing and DevOps
• Produce technical design documentation and contribute to functional design where required
• Mentor and support junior developers
• Lead development activities across projects and provide technical guidance to the wider team

Experience:

• 8 years' Dynamics NAV / C/AL development experience
• 5 years' Dynamics 365 Business Central / AL development experience
• Strong experience with AL, C/AL, Visual Studio Code and Git
• Experience working on projects involving C/AL to AL conversions
• Strong understanding of Business Central architecture, extensions and event-driven programming
• Experience with APIs, web services and system integrations
• Experience producing technical design specifications
• Good understanding of finance and operational processes, including Finance, Warehousing and Inventory
• Experience leading or mentoring other developers
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:

• Previous experience with Power Platform, Power Automate or Azure DevOps
• Functional Business Central experience
• Experience working within a Microsoft Dynamics Partner environment
• Experience leading a development team, even if this has been a small team
• Experience producing functional design documentation

Salary & Benefits:

• £60,000 – £70,000
• Workplace Pension

Location:

Hybrid – Northamptonshire

3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home.
