Senior Duty Officer

Belfast | Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week)

An award-winning visitor attraction in Belfast is seeking a Senior Duty Officer to join their Operations team. This is a key role in the daily running of one of Northern Ireland's most iconic destinations - ensuring the venue operates efficiently, safely, and delivers world-class service to every visitor.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across all guest-facing areas, ensuring smooth and efficient running of the venue.
  • Lead daily team briefings, setting clear priorities and motivating staff to deliver an outstanding visitor experience.
  • Act as the lead decision-maker during duty shifts, ensuring high standards of safety, service, and presentation.
  • Manage and respond to any operational challenges or emergencies with professionalism and calm authority.
  • Conduct daily inspections to maintain top-tier standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with Facilities, Security, and Housekeeping teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Support staff training, performance, and engagement initiatives to promote a positive, guest-first culture.
About you
  • Essential: 2+ years' experience in a supervisory or duty management role within a busy, customer-facing environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
  • Proven experience in health and safety compliance and risk management.
  • A calm, decisive approach to problem-solving and crisis management.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Desirable: Experience working in a major visitor attraction, leisure, or events venue.
  • First Aid or IOSH certification.
  • Experience in financial or resource management.
