Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer based in Leeds or Belfast to lead drainage design for transport projects across the UK. You will deliver from concept to detail, manage client relationships and mentor a team of drainage engineers.

Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or a degree with extensive post‑graduate drainage experience is required, with expertise in Civil 3D, Causeway Flow or MicroDrainage to deliver compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent degree qualification.
• Extensive post‑degree experience designing sustainable drainage solutions.
• Solid knowledge of drainage design principles for transport infrastructure.
• Experience using Civil 3D, Causeway Flow or MicroDrainage.
• Familiarity with UK Building Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice.
• Proven ability to manage projects and teams to high quality and budget targets.
• Technical experience in Highway, Rail, Airport drainage and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a wide range of civil engineering drainage projects from concept to completion.
• Ensure high technical standards, timely delivery and commercial success.
• Lead and develop client relationships and attend progress meetings.
• Manage a team of drainage engineers and allocate resources across projects.
