Job summary

Fairhurst is seeking a Drainage Engineer in Edinburgh to deliver a wide range of drainage projects, including major infrastructure, masterplan development, and renewables schemes. You will develop drainage strategies from feasibility to construction, perform rainfall/runoff calculations, and model networks using Causeway Flow and InfoDrainage, while producing reports and drawings.

Ability to coordinate drainage with highways geometry, earthworks, utilities, and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

Design highway drainage systems for new-build, improvement, and major infrastructure schemes.
Develop drainage strategies from feasibility through detailed design and construction.
Produce drainage design reports, calculations, specifications, schedules, drawings, and submissions.
Oversee hydraulic calculations and network modelling to assess capacity and flood risk.
Coordinate drainage design with other disciplines and stakeholders.
Assist in developing skills within the team and mentoring junior members.
