Role Overview

As Senior Document Controller, you will be overseeing the document management requirements of several projects, both internally and externally. You will also making decisions and advising project managers and their teams on the document control processes required for each discipline. Reporting to the Group Projects Director, you will participate in the development, performance, and maintenance of information management systems. This role will have cross‑department requirements in Verne such as Engineering, Legal and Finance. You will partner closely with the Verne leadership team, project team, contractors and vendors to strategically manage the overall information management requirements of Verne Development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads, directs, and coordinates the project management teams in the design of the overall project communication strategy and plans and in the development of the implementation of the required communication system architecture to deliver the agreed strategy.
  • Identifies and develops working relationships with affected stakeholders at all levels; ensures that the required information is available to stakeholders and those that need to be kept appropriately informed of project activities.
  • Advises the best communication process required for the project teams regarding cross‑functional considerations, workflow integration and coordination, and optimisation of best practices.
  • Provides and ensures communication with and between project and stakeholder management at critical points in the implementation of the project plan.
  • Ensures that projects communication strategies are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters;
  • Designs, establishes, and maintains a communication structure and resources to effectively accomplish the goals and objectives of the unit; recruits, trains, oversees, and deploys staff as appropriate.
  • Establishing and encouraging open, effective lines of communication with the Verne leadership team, project teams and all stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and developing the reputation of Verne while protecting our position at all times.
  • Implementing strategies for information management, capturing learning to promote a culture of continuous improvement and better practice.
  • Contributing with fresh ideas on strategy, communication planning, and service delivery that will challenge normal practice.
Key Requirements
  • Ten or more years of experience as a Document Controller or Information Manager.
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with project management and other specialist software required for this role.
  • Proven ability to lead and maintain high‑quality work.
  • Proven ability to organise and communicate in an efficient manner to satisfy the business needs of Verne Development.
