Job summary

Philosophy Education is recruiting a Director of SEND / Curriculum for a senior leadership post at a Further Education college in Lambeth, South London.

You will provide strategic leadership across SEND provision and curriculum, lead ALS and high-needs funding, develop innovative models, manage teams, and work with local authorities, employers and stakeholders to secure outstanding student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or DTTLS.
• Proven management experience within an FE SEND setting or relevant environment.
• Successful background in SEND and ALS leadership.
• Strong knowledge of high-needs/SEND funding streams and methodologies.
• Experience of curriculum planning, staff deployment and resource management.
• Experience managing budgets and contributing to curriculum and business planning.
• Track record of quality improvement leading to better student outcomes.
• Experience of teaching observations and staff development plans.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop teams through change.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across the SEND curriculum and associated provision.
• Lead development of curriculum models to improve student outcomes and progression.
• Work with local authorities to develop SEND provision and funded learning opportunities.
• Provide leadership of ALS and high-needs funding.
• Lead, manage and develop curriculum and support teams with high performance standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment.
• Manage resources and budgets to support provision growth.
• Build relationships with employers, external agencies, parents/carers and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance for external inspection and awarding body requirements.
• Use learner outcomes and data to identify improvements.
