Job summary

A prominent housing provider is seeking a Head of Fire Safety & Asbestos. This role is critical in ensuring compliance and safety, focusing on fire safety and asbestos management. Key responsibilities include overseeing fire risk assessments, managing budgets, and developing safety strategies. Candidates should have proven leadership experience, a strong understanding of related legislation, and excellent interpersonal skills. The work is located in either East Midlands or London, and it is a permanent position.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within fire safety and asbestos management.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices in fire safety and asbestos management.
  • Excellent managerial skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the internal Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) and remedial processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
  • Monitor and challenge the performance of contractors to ensure high standards.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fire safety strategy.
  • Manage budgets effectively to ensure quality of work.
  • Lead on procurement and commercial evaluation of contracts.
