Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Senior Director to lead Enterprise Reporting and Analytics Engineering, uniting analytics engineers, report developers, and data leaders to transform engineered data into actionable insights.

The role focuses on moving beyond dashboards toward proactive analytics, partnering with Data Science to productize models, and delivering governed, scalable analytics across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; equivalent experience considered.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in data/analytics/BI.
• 8+ years leading teams and 4+ years managing managers.
• Experience leading large, matrixed teams (25+).
• Hands-on in SQL, dimensional modeling, and ELT/ETL; cloud warehouse experience.
• Experience applying software engineering practices to analytics (Git-based workflows, automated testing, CI/CD).
• Experience with enterprise BI platforms governance, provisioning, and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational leadership for ~30 people including frontline managers; hire, define roles, and guide career paths.
• Define multi-year vision and roadmap for enterprise reporting and analytics engineering; align with product management.
• Own budget, vendor relationships, and offshore capacity.
• Establish engineering culture within analytics (peer review, testing, documentation, version control).
• Drive maturity of last-mile architecture with Data Engineering; curate semantic layers and certified data products.
• Oversee enterprise metric layer and governance across consumption points.
• Partner with Data Science to productize analytics and enable AI/LLM access to data.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Data Engineering on roadmaps and requirements.
• Lead data governance with catalog, lineage, and governance tools (Atlan, etc.).
• Rationalize reporting portfolio, reduce tech debt, and promote self-service with guardrails.
