A public sector organization is seeking a Senior Digital Technical Architect to lead its digital transformation program. This remote role involves overseeing enterprise-level architecture strategy and enforcing governance. The ideal candidate should have TOGAF certification, experience in Microsoft Azure, and strong stakeholder engagement skills. The position requires SC Clearance, and preference will be given to candidates already holding it. This role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.

On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Senior Digital Technical Architect (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based Remote (Occasional travel to London office).

FCDO is delivering a major digital transformation programme to modernise its technology estate and deliver secure, scalable services globally. We're seeking a Senior Digital Technical Architect to lead enterprise‑level architecture strategy for FCDO. This is a high‑impact role where you'll define reference architecture, enforce governance, and ensure TOGAF‑aligned documentation across a complex technology landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture strategy and ensure it's agreed and followed.
• Network and communicate with senior stakeholders across organisations.
• Proactively seek opportunities for digital transformation.
• Support multiple teams, applying best practice and emerging technologies.
• Inspire other architects and guide delivery of organisational goals.
• Own governance and solve complex, high‑risk architectural issues.

Essential

• TOGAF certification and hands‑on experience.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing &eligible to undergo checks.
