A health organization in Manchester is looking for an IT Infrastructure Support Specialist to manage its server and datacentre infrastructure. This role includes providing high-quality support for various IT systems, ensuring optimal operational performance. The ideal candidate will have experience with VMware, Microsoft, and Citrix systems. Competitive salary of £38,682 to £46,580 per annum, pro rata.

This role includes responsibility to provide support for the development, installation, support, maintenance, and administration of the MFT's server and datacentre infrastructure, ensuring that the integrity and performance of the infrastructure is optimised in support of clinical and business needs. The post-holder will be expected to provide high-quality support for the server and datacentre infrastructure which underpins the delivery of digital systems; the post-holder will provide pro‑active and reactive support for both hardware and software faults. The post-holder will support the Datacentre team in providing a high-performing service and ensuring the technical infrastructure is operating optimally and to industry best‑practice standards. The role will ensure that the service capability of the Trust's IT infrastructure, specifically in the area of Systems, Servers, Storage, Security, Virtualisation and Datacentre Support, is maintained. The position provides technical knowledge across a range of relevant IT technologies, with the aim to provide a stable foundation to host digital systems throughout the organisation, ensuring BAU is optimised, and clinical systems are technically sound within the infrastructure.
The main duties of this post are to manage the Trust server and storage infrastructure residing in the Trust datacentres and server rooms, as well as administer cloud infrastructure and some related applications such as Office365 (Exchange Online, Teams, etc.).
