Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Digital Data Analyst to turn complex data into actionable insights. You will collaborate with digital and engineering teams across the regional and global organization to analyse data and tell stories that drive engagement.

The role requires a data-native mindset, leadership of analysts, and hands-on experience with Power BI, ETL, SQL Server, GIS, and low-code tools. AECOM offers hybrid work options and opportunities to impact major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a data analyst role.
• Advanced knowledge of dashboarding platforms including Tableau, Power BI, Looker.
• Proven ability to tell a data-driven story from the ground up.
• Ability to translate analytics into client business value.
• Ability to learn new software quickly.
• Team player with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior data analysts, providing guidance.
• Collaborate with Operations and Technical leads to ensure project deliverables and data visualization.
• Apply ETL techniques to data.
• Create advanced Power BI dashboards and other visualization tools.
• Produce solutions following best practices and company standards.
• Generate advanced outputs in GIS software.
• Interpret and create complex metrics from large datasets.
• Set up and manage relational database tables (SQL Server and Dataverse).
• Engage with clients and present data in layman’s terms with strategic insights.
• Identify new project opportunities with clients and lead bids.
• Stay updated with trends and implement them in projects.
• Design low-code solutions using Power Automate and Power Apps.

Job Description

As a Senior Digital Data Analyst, you will report directly to the Data Intelligence Lead. Your primary responsibility will be to create compelling data insights tailored to client requirements. You will collaborate closely with digital and engineering teams across our regional and global organisation, analysing data and presenting stories that answer key questions and promote further engagement. This role requires a data-native mindset, with the ability to think outside the box and find true value in data that others might overlook.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate advanced ability and relevant qualifications in data analytics.
• Lead and mentor junior data analysts, providing guidance and support.
• Work closely with Operations and Technical leads to ensure the delivery of project deliverables and all aspects of data visualisation and analytics within agreed timescales.
• Apply advanced knowledge and experience in extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to data.
• Create advanced dashboards in Power BI and other visualisation tools.
• Produce solutions in accordance with current best practices and company standards.
• Generate advanced visual outputs in Geospatial Analytics Software (GIS).
• Interpret and create complex metrics from large datasets.
• Set up and manage relational database tables, including but not limited to SQL Server and Dataverse.
• Engage with clients and present data in layman’s terms, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
• Identify new project opportunities with clients and lead bids to secure these projects.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and implement them in projects.
• Design and develop low-code solutions using Power Automate and Power Apps

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a data analyst role.
• Degree and/or experience in data analytics, computer science, or other related fields.
• Advanced knowledge of dashboarding platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.
• Proven ability to tell a story from data from the ground up.
• Ability to recognise the tangible benefits of applying data analytics to client problem statements.
• Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented.

Preferred Skills:

• Extensive experience and knowledge of coding languages including Python.
• Extensive experience and knowledge of using Geospatial Analytics Software (GIS).
• Microsoft accreditation for PL-300 (Power BI) or other relevant certifications.
• Experience in leading data analytics projects and teams.
• Experience working in a consulting environment and securing bids.
• Proven experience in a consulting environment, including successfully identifying and securing new project opportunities through competitive bids.
