Senior Digital Communications Officer

Salary: £44,752 - £55,289 + benefits

Our client leads the Government's work on the future governance of football. At present, there is a team made up of circa 60 members of staff, led by an interim Chief Operating Officer. This team will transfer out of our client to be the Independent Football Regulator in 2025, no earlier than October.

The team is currently undertaking a range of activities in preparation for the establishment of the IFR, which was created when the Football Governance Act became law in July.

While this role is being advertised through our client, it will be based in the Independent Football Regulator (IFR) and will not start until the IFR has been fully established as an independent body from 1 November 2025.

Job Description
Responsibilities Include
  • Implement the IFR s digital communications strategy and create engaging content for social media channels, the IFR website and internal communications channels.
  • Manage the IFR consultation website, ensuring it is compliant with all relevant standards. This includes uploading content and working with wider teams to ensure information is up to date and reliable.
  • Create and develop engaging digital content including video production, graphics, animations, and multimedia assets using tools like Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Work closely with the IFR stakeholder team to ensure consistency of content, message and tone.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements

Reporting to the Head of Digital Communications the successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working with Content Management Systems to create and upload content.
  • Ensuring consistent tone, messaging and branding.
  • Experience in implementing social media strategies and managing social media channels.
  • Excellent creative content and production skills, including a strong user knowledge of Adobe Suite products (or similar).
  • Experience in managing a website or campaign microsite and best practice.
Desirable Skills
  • Good understanding of online accessibility standards and how to implement them in web content and design.
