Qualifications

• Substantial postgraduate experience preferably covering both acute and community clinical work.
• Significant experience providing specialist care for patients with diabetes.
• Developing specialised programmes of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality specialist podiatry care to patients.
• Carry a high-risk diabetic clinical caseload.
• Supervise Band 6 members of the podiatry team and act as a clinical mentor.

Skills

Complex diabetic wound assessment and management

Vascular assessment and associated podiatric management

Experience in the provision of health education

Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite of programs

Education

BSc Podiatry or equivalent

MSc (working towards) or equivalent experience

Evidence of postgraduate continual professional development

Evidence of working at nationally accepted competency level for Band 7 Diabetes Specialist
